The Countryside Leader Award is aimed at teachers, youth workers and adults with expedition experience wishing to lead walks and camping expeditions in non-remote, lowland countryside. Its ideal for schools who lead their own DofE expeditions within bonze & silver terrain and require evidence of technical competence.
The Countryside Leader Award (CLA) is perfect if you are leading Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions in local and low land terrain and want to camp overnight. It is recommend that you have experience of working with young people.
This is the quickest and cheapest way for adult leaders to gain a nationally recognised award. The qualification is seen as adequate evidence of a person's technical competence to lead groups, by Adventurous Activity Licencing Authority (AALA) and the Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP).
